Beautiful Rain

I am a bit of a weather geek. I love checking out the weather forecast and every day I take a picture of the sky in the morning (it is always changing, always beautiful). I even like pretty much all types of weather, as long as it is in seasonally appropriate times (ie: not all of that rain we had last summer for months on end!).

 

But, some rain can still be really beautiful to me. I love the smell after a good rain storm or staying inside when it is pouring down outside, listening to the rain hammering the windows. Oddly, I also love staying in the car waiting for a severe downpour to pass- I love the different shapes and light rain creates on the windows. So I really, really love these oil paintings from Gregory Thielker, Under the Unminding Sky. The fact that they are oil paintings is incredible- they look so realistic.
